Trust for Public Land Celebrates Opening of Cotoni-Coast Dairies to the Public as Part of California Coastal National Monument
San Francisco, CA — Today, Trust for Public Land celebrated the public opening of California’s newest national monument—Cotoni-Coast Dairies, part of the California Coastal National Monument—welcoming communities to explore one of the state’s most unique coastal landscapes.
Statement from Guillermo Rodriguez, Vice President Pacific Region, California State Director at Trust for Public Land:
“Preserving the remarkable ecosystem of Cotoni-Coast Dairies means protecting a landscape where nature and community can thrive together. It’s a place where families can explore tide pools, children can discover their first redwood grove, and neighbors can find peace just minutes from home.
Public lands like the Cotoni-Coast Dairies onshore unit of the California Coastal National Monument are essential to the health and economy of our region. They provide space to connect with the natural world, restore our well-being, and strengthen our sense of self-identity.
Congratulations to the BLM for today’s opening honors decades of partnerships and ensures that these forests, streams, and coastal bluffs will remain a beloved part of everyday life on the Central California Coast.”
