The Community Schoolyards model gives students a range of spaces to explore. There are hands-on garden beds; places for active recreation, like basketball courts and climbing structures; and quiet areas for reading and socializing.

A San Francisco writer and her late husband supported a range of charities together, from those focused on music and the arts to women’s rights and the environment. They decided to name Trust for Public Land in their will because of the organization’s commitment to climate resilience and its pledge to connect everyone to the outdoors.
