Registration is now open for Cohort 2 of the Community Forest Training Program, a free five-month virtual workshop series hosted by Trust for Public Land. This unique program equips local leaders with the skills, strategies, and resources to create lasting community forests that strengthen economies, protect ecosystems, and bring people together.
Participants will learn from experts and peers about acquiring, managing, and improving forest lands to:

- Drive local economic growth through recreation, tourism, and sustainable timber.
- Protect watersheds, wildlife, and biodiversity.
- Strengthen community governance and stewardship.
When: Nov 2025 – Mar 2026
Format: Monthly expert-led workshops, case studies, peer networking
Cost: Free to participate
Who Should Register: Ideal for planners, conservation staff, elected officials, and community development leaders.
Qualifications:
- Participants must be in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawai’i, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming.
- Represent one of the following organizational types: local government entity, tribal entity, or land trust.
- Be able to attend all five monthly meetings.
