River to Bay Greenway

Launched in 2001, The Trust for Public Land’s River to Bay Greenway program will establish a 70-mile corridor linking existing and proposed open space between the Delaware River in Camden to Barnegat Bay.

The River to Bay greenway protects critical natural resources along local waterways and creates much-needed public space for recreation-providing a “green infrastructure” for urban and suburban residents of Camden, Burlington, and Ocean Counties.

The effort has been especially important in Camden County, where there are few land trusts to advance open space protection. There, TPL has helped to increase local funding for open space protection and created new parks in Lindenwood, Voorhees, Somerdale, and Clementon.
