North Canyon Junction

Though only four acres, the North Canyon Junction is a small but essential link along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST), a 300-mile continuous pathway that stretches along the foothills of the Wasatch Range. Until 2023, this land was privately owned, creating uncertainty for trail users and ultimately, could disrupt the entire BST. But thanks to our partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, Trust for Public Land helped secure permanent protection for North Canyon Junction—ensuring that this vital connection remains open to hikers, bikers, and outdoor enthusiasts for generations to come.

Now, visitors to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail can explore with confidence, knowing that this link is safeguarded. Its protection enhances recreation opportunities, strengthens regional trail connectivity, and supports long-term trail management. By preserving this land, we’re fostering deeper connections between people and the landscapes that make Utah’s outdoor experience so special.
