The LuluMa Foundation Contributes $1 Million to Trust for Public Land

Trust for Public Land announces a $1 million contribution from The LuluMa Foundation to support the Chattahoochee RiverLands, a planned 100-mile trail and parks through the heart of metro Atlanta. With this donation, private funding for the RiverLands has reached more than $23 million, with an additional $27 million in public funding.

“Donations from private organizations such as LuluMa Foundation have been instrumental in Trust for Public Land’s ability to accomplish the transformative work of connecting the residents of 20 cities and 7 counties to the Chattahoochee River,” said George Dusenbury, Georgia State Director at Trust for Public Land. “We are tremendously grateful to LuluMa Foundation for their generous gift to help us further the reach of the Chattahoochee RiverLands into Atlanta, South Fulton and beyond.”

Trust for Public Land is championing the creation of the Chattahoochee RiverLands, an outdoor recreation destination with 100 miles of parks, trails, and amenities stretching from Buford Dam to Chattahoochee Bend State Park. The Chattahoochee RiverLands will connect nearly one million nearby residents and visitors to the outdoors, providing kayaking, swimming, cycling, picnicking, walking, and camping opportunities.

In December, Trust for Public Land celebrated two ribbon cuttings along the Chattahoochee RiverLands. The Cobb Showcase Site at Discovery Park opened as the first section of the fully-realized vision outlined in the Chattahoochee RiverLands, and offers the first-ever public access to the river in South Cobb County.

Trust for Public Land and the City of Atlanta also officially opened the Camp + Paddle Trail, providing a new access point that offers a way to experience 48 miles of the Chattahoochee River in a three-night, four-day itinerary, starting at Peachtree Creek in North Atlanta and continuing to McIntosh Reserve in Carroll County.
