Statement by The Trust for Public Land on Announcement of Biden Administration’s 30×30 Report

“We applaud the Biden Administration’s vision to conserve and restore the places that matter most to America’s communities, natural resources, and national character,” said Jordan Schreiber, Sr. Director, Policy, Advocacy and Government Relations at The Trust for Public Land. “Today’s announcement recognizes that these ambitious goals can be achieved only through an inclusive, durable commitment to local needs and voices; consistent federal support; and a conservation ethic that leaves no one behind. The robust funding for the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program is a necessary step in closing the nature gap to ensure every person living in America has access to a close to home park. But we can’t stop there. The next step towards that goal is to pass the Parks, Jobs and Equity Act. With our longstanding “Land for People” focus, we share the Administration’s confidence that equitable community-led conservation solutions, supported by a strong federal partnership, can ensure everyone in America has access to the benefits of the outdoors regardless of zip code.”
