Tres Carpenter

Tres Carpenter is a principal and portfolio manager at ZWJ Investment Counsel. ZWJ is an Atlanta-based active investment advisor that manages separately managed accounts on behalf of individuals, endowments, and foundations. Tres oversees ZWJ’s dividend investment strategy and co-manages individual security analysis and selection for ZWJ clients. He also provides retirement planning services. Tres holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations as well as the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing. He received BA degrees in economics and history at Hampden-Sydney College, and he earned an MBA at UC Davis.

Tres currently serves on Trust For Public Land’s Georgia Advisory Board with a focus on the Chattahoochee Riverlands initiative. Tres was previously on the boards of the Buckhead Heritage Society and Little Nancy Creek Park, where he served as co-founder and President. He has also been a member of Atlanta Technology Angels and served as a mediocre youth soccer coach and Cub Scout den dad.

Tres is a native Atlantan and currently resides in Historic Brookhaven. He enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing numerous hobbies he doesn’t seem to be getting any better at.
