Paul Wright

Paul Wright, San Francisco, CA is a former Principal with Triage Consulting Group, where he spent 21 years before retiring in 2022 after assisting with Triage’s merger into Cloudmed/R1 from 2020-2022. He currently works as a consultant in the same industry (Hospital Revenue Cycle), but he primarily spends time volunteering, traveling, walking, indulging childhood sports fandom road trips, and enjoying nature with his wife at their lake cabin in northern Minnesota (in the summers!). In addition to TPL he volunteers with Compass Family Services supporting homeless and low-income families in San Francisco, and with Stanford University on admissions and development.

While Paul’s professional career was in healthcare finance, assisting hospitals with insurance payments, his education was primarily in Ecology and Evolution. Both his BS and MS degrees are in Biology and included a thesis proposal defense focused on host plant impact on butterfly speciation, which involved summers chasing butterflies in the remote corners of the Rocky Mountains…and endless lab work the rest of the year. Life brought him a career pivot out of grad school when serendipity landed him at Triage Consulting Group for a wonderful career. He looks forward to a “second act” more adjacent to his educational aspirations in ecology and conservation.

Paul’s favorite things include looking at the lake in Minnesota, very long walks through the hills and neighborhoods of San Francisco while listening to sports podcasts, and snowboarding. He is also an avid international traveler, with his favorite trips being safaris (6 countries in Africa and Borneo so far), and is particularly grateful to have the fortune of having seen all 3 ‘great apes’ in the wild.
