Jerome C. Vascellaro

Jerome is an experienced executive and global advisor who focuses on improving organization performance through his strong financial, business and leadership acumen. He has a distinctive set of experiences and lens with which to understand and impact high talent individuals, high performing organizations, and culturally deep institutions. His experiences span a range of industries including financial service institutions, industrial companies, and professional service firms, as well as key nonprofit sectors.

Jerome recently stepped down as a senior Partner of TPG where he had a wide variety of senior leadership responsibilities. He joined TPG in 2006 and served as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer through 2018. Since the 2016 launch of The Rise Fund, TPG’s impact investing fund, he also served as the fund’s Chief Operating Officer. In 2017, he helped create Y Analytics, TPG’s social impact assessment affiliate, and is currently chairman of the Y Analytics Board and a member of Y Analytics Editorial Advisory Board. He remains a Senior Advisor to TPG. He has begun to teach at Brown University as a guest lecturer in courses on leadership, strategy, and social impact.

Prior to joining TPG, he was a senior Director at McKinsey & Company. During his 28 years at McKinsey, he served clients in a range of industries in the United States and Europe. In addition, he held several leadership and management positions at McKinsey where he was responsible for several worldwide activities, including oversight of critical personnel activities and the partner personnel and compensation processes.

Jerome received a Bachelor of Science degree, studying engineering and economics, from Brown University, where he graduated with highest honors, and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.

Jerome is a Fellow Emeritus and former Vice Chancellor of the Corporation of Brown University. He has been on the Corporation of Brown since 1999 and has had a broad range of senior governance and development roles and responsibilities. He is a former Trustee and Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of the California Academy of Sciences, the science museum and educational and research institution in San Francisco. He is also a former board member of the Echoing Green Foundation that supports exceptional leaders who are solving deep-rooted social problems.

Jerome is currently a member of the National Board of the Trust for Public Land and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.
