Emily Patterson

As our Senior Director of Leadership and Learning, Emily Patterson leads an enterprise-wide strategy to strengthen leadership capacity, accelerate learning, and support knowledge sharing across the organization. In this role she is responsible for designing and executing TPL’s learning strategy including TPL University (TPL’s training program). Emily also manages the C.O.R.E (Community Outreach with Resident Experts) Fellowship, a fully paid and benefited 2-year fellowship program for early-stage local leaders to catalyze change in their communities and develop the skills and experience to redefine the parks, conservation, and climate fields.

In her previous roles at TPL, Emily was Managing Director of Colorado’s Parks for People Program and National Director for Capital Projects. Before joining TPL in 2012, she worked for leading local and national landscape architecture and planning firms focused exclusively on public lands. Emily has a Master of Landscape Architecture and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Georgia.
