Trust For Public Land, City of Bridgeport Unveiled Winning Bridgeport Seawalk Logo Design

Mayor Joe Ganim and Trust for Public Land unveiled the winning design of the Bridgeport Seawalk logo during a public event at Seaside Park, introducing the new visual identity that will serve as the official branding for Bridgeport’s waterfront initiative.

The winning logo, designed by Jess Tennyson, was selected through a community-driven contest that invited residents and local creatives to help shape the identity of the Bridgeport Seawalk. Inspired by local wildlife, the Long Island Sound, sunshine and the Bridgeport skyline, the newly unveiled design will be used to promote and unify the city’s vision for a vibrant, accessible, and 20-mile connected waterfront experience for residents and visitors alike. Tennyson will receive a $5,000 cash prize for her design.

I’m absolutely thrilled to have my logo featured on the brand-new Bridgeport Seawalk,” shared Tennyson. “This project will give so many people the opportunity to explore and connect with Bridgeport’s beautiful waterfront, and I’m so grateful that my work can be a small part of it.”

City officials, community members, and project partners gathered at Seaside Park to celebrate the unveiling and recognize the importance of public participation in shaping the future of Bridgeport’s waterfront.

During this contest, we had over 200 logo submissions from around the country and 1,000 people made their voice heard during the voting,” shared Mayor Ganim. “The design is just the beginning of how we will connect our great city through the Seawalk.”

“The new logo captured the spirit of the Bridgeport Seawalk and the community that helped bring this vision to life,” said Walker Holmes, Mid-Atlantic Vice President and Connecticut Director for Trust for Public Land. “This project has always been about creating welcoming public spaces that connect people to nature, recreation, and one another.”

Once complete, the Bridgeport Seawalk will connect over 40,000 residents to  the waterfront while creating opportunities for recreation, connectivity, and community gathering along Bridgeport’s shoreline. And the work is already beginning with a recent $1.4 million grant from Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s   Long Island Sound Ecosystems Grant program to transform Bridgeport’s flood-prone Sliver by the River site into a community-designed coastal resilience park along the Bridgeport Seawalk. For further Bridgeport Seawalk developments, and to view the full trail map visit: tpl.org/bridgeport-seawalk.
