Kate Kelly
Kate leads TPL’s federal advocacy team to advance the organization’s ambitious strategic plan to expand public lands, parks, trails, and schoolyards across the country —ensuring more Americans have access to the outdoors.
Kate brings two decades of experience in the U.S. Senate, U.S Department of the Interior, and non-profit sector. She has managed high-profile conservation and energy initiatives for three Interior Secretaries. Most recently, she served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy for Secretary Deb Haaland.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Kate brings a lifelong commitment to protecting public lands and ensuring communities have access to outdoor spaces. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and lives in Washington, D.C. where she can be found exploring Rock Creek Park with her family.
