Our Work in Broome County

In Broome County, a shared vision is bringing communities closer together. Trust for Public Land is proud to work alongside local leaders, municipalities, residents, Binghamton University, and regional planners to plan and develop 12 miles of trail, building on the Two Rivers Greenway, that puts people, not cars, at the center of daily life.

By linking historically disconnected neighborhoods, adding green infrastructure to reduce flood risk, and creating safer routes for people of all ages and abilities, this collaboration is addressing longstanding challenges around climate resilience, access, and public health. Every mile will be designed hand-in-hand with residents to best serve their community and make it easier for everyone to move, breathe, and thrive.

By listening closely to residents and weaving their ideas into every step, this trail network will help bring years of local dreams and planning to life and reconnect communities to the benefits of the outdoors.
