Statement from The Trust for Public Land on the House Natural Resource Committee mark-up

Statement from Alex Schaefer, Sr. Legislative Representative at The Trust for Public Land, on the House Natural Resource Committee mark-up:

“We are grateful to Representatives Grijalva, Neguse and Barragán and the House Natural Resource Committee for their commitment to expanding equitable access to nature. To advance that urgent priority, the reconciliation bill includes critical funding for local parks in communities that need them most. This vital first step for urban parks is an essential part of the much-needed investment the bill makes in our natural and recreational infrastructure, despite the funding constraints the Committee faced, and we look forward to seeing the House pass the bill soon. TPL and our 300+ coalition partners are committed to working through this process to secure additional funding to expand access to nature and build the healthier, more equitable, more resilient future for all.”
