The Tiburon Ridge Story

The hilltop views from the Tiburon Peninsula are guaranteed to rival any postcard of the Golden Gate Bridge. These 110-acres are known as Tiburon Ridge, or the Martha Property to some locals, and have been owned by the same family for over 100 years and famed among local conservationists for decades. But this space was proposed for housing development not too long ago, making the picturesque views of the San Francisco Bay only accessible to affluent mansion owners. Thankfully, community voices and environmental action have delayed these plans, and now, Trust for Public Land is working to protect this space forever.

We’re in a race against the clock to secure $42.1 million to acquire the property by 2024, but voters in Marin County can help make the community’s dream a reality. By voting to pass a Mello-Roos bond in November 2022, we can safeguard this iconic space once and for all. If acquired, Tiburon Ridge will be given to the Marin County Parks and Open Space District as a public park for everyone to enjoy. The community envisions a preserve that enhances recreational access and wildlife corridors, completes trail connections, and expands wildlife habitat for rare species—and together, we can create a lasting legacy for future generations.
