Flying Squirrel Preserve

The Trust for Public Land teamed up with the Morrow County Park District to protect 124-acres in Chester Township, Ohio to create the Flying Squirrel Preserve. This new nature preserve was once a private campground. Now, any local resident or visitor will be able to explore the natural wonders of this special place.
The project also protects headwater wetlands and streams in the Mile Run Kokosing River watershed. That’s why the Morrow County Park District identified this land as a priority conservation area for both water quality and passive outdoor recreation purposes. In the future, we hope to work with the Morrow County Park District to grow Flying Squirrel Preserve, protecting key natural resources and providing close to home outdoor recreation opportunities for the residents of Morrow County.
