TPL's Chicago Natural Areas Program helps local communities protect vital open space and natural areas threatened by sprawl. Working alongside local governments, county agencies, conservation groups and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, TPL's real estate experts help contain development by protecting critical natural areas and providing new opportunities for outdoor recreation. TPL's national experts are also able to provide assistance to park districts and forest preserve districts in researching, crafting and passing ballot measures dedicated to funding land protection.
