Former legislator named to government affairs post
Former Augusta state legislator David Swann has been named the new government affairs director for the Georgia office of the Trust for Public Land. He will be responsible for promoting the nonprofit organization’s land conservation agenda – an agenda that includes securing permanent funding for the Georgia Community Greenspace Program.
Swann was also recently appointed by Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin to serve on the city’s Tree Conservation Commission.
As a member of Georgia House of Representatives, Swann served on the Banks and Banking, Health & Ecology, and Special Judiciary committees. He holds a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences from John Carroll University; a Masters Degree in Philosophy from Lehigh University, and an Honorary Doctor of Laws.
