Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, Utah

The Red Cliffs National Conservation Area and Red Cliffs Desert Reserve provide a way for people to experience this spectacular place on more than 130 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding while also protecting habitat for the Mojave desert tortoise and other wildlife.

“Colorful” is one way to describe the history of the Doody Homestead, which was until recently one of the two largest privately held properties, or inholdings, within Glacier National Park.

For several years, The Trust for Public Land and several partner organizations helped protect this property, linking it to nearby conservation lands, and creating a nine mile stretch of protected land along the river.

Castle Valley Ranch, UT

Sierra Buttes, California

Sturgeon River, MI

With its rugged terrain, mature forests, and remote location, the
14,000-acre Sturgeon River Gorge Wilderness features stunning
waterfalls, rapids, ponds, oxbows, and terraces along the river's
13-mile run in Michigan's deepest valley.

Preserving the North of Highland Camping Area in Truro, Massachusetts, was a priority for the late Senator Edward Kennedy, D-Mass, who led efforts to secure federal Land and Water Conservation Fund funding for the campground which allows public access to Cape Cod Seashore.

Biddle Property, Massachusetts

With forests and a ridgetop view of Cape Cod Bay, the Biddle property
is as lovely and environmentally sensitive as it is historic. A homemade sign hung for years
in the Biddle family's kitchen. It read: "The environment, conservation and historic preservation BEGIN
HERE."

Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park

TPL has protected many historical resources in Chickamauga National Military Park, Tennessee for the National Park Service including 328 acres acquired from the CSX Railroad Company, in Lookout Valley using federal funds from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

Moose Lake, Wisconsin

Sharing an eight-mile boundary with the popular Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, the 1,135-acre Moose Lake property was an attractive prospect for second home development.
