Stacey Shankle

Mid-South Program Director, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Oklahoma

Stacey Shankle leads Trust for Public Land’s work in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma. Stacey brings over 23 years of direct experience delivering conservation results in this region with experience in conservation planning, partnership coordination, land and easement acquisitions, habitat restoration and program management. Before joining Trust for Public Land, Stacey served as Southern Regional Land Protection Manager for Ducks Unlimited, and as Director of Conservation Programs for The Nature Conservancy in Mississippi.

Because of Stacey’s roots in rural Mississippi, he brings a deep knowledge of the challenges facing rural, under-resourced communities across these states as well as a strong commitment to creating meaningful access for all to nature, wildlands and waters. Stacey believes we go farther together, with broad experience working in partnership with federal, state and local governments, non-profit and community partners. He has served on the board or working groups of several state and regional conservation partnerships. Recognizing Stacey’s work with National Wildlife Refuges, he received the US Fish and Wildlife Service’s 2022 National Land Protection Award.
