Paul Fate

Paul Fate retired as President and CEO of CommonBond Communities in 2014. Fate has 40 years of experience in the field of housing and community development locally and nationally. Fate also started and directed the Twin Cities office of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) for eleven years. His interests and areas of expertise include housing development policy and advocacy; real estate development and finance; strategic planning; community engagement; and, governance and
leadership.

Fate holds a master’s degree in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a master’s degree in City Planning from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. He has served on a number of national and regional boards including the Housing Partnership Network, the Enterprise Communities National Leadership Council, the Minnesota Housing Partnership, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness Area, and the Metropolitan Consortium for Community Development.

Paul and his wife Ann have three children and one grandchild. Paul loves to cross-country ski, bike, visit the Boundary Waters, read and host friends and family for meals and gatherings.
