In Connecticut, historic farms and scenic forests are giving way to large-lot residential development and the strip malls built to serve them. With land consumption outpacing population growth by more than 100 percent, The Trust for Public Land is working hard to preserve the state’s rural character. On the coast and along Connecticut’s scenic rivers, TPL joins conservation partners to protect shoreline property that safeguards water quality and provides public access for swimming, boating, and fishing.
