Throughout its vibrant history, the Sunshine State has attracted visitors and newcomers from around the world. As Florida confronts new environmental challenges, The Trust for Public Land is working hard to preserve the places that make the state so special—to date, more than 130,000 acres of waterfront, greenways, archaeological sites, and iconic “Old Florida” attractions. Since opening its first field office in Florida in 1975, TPL has helped to more than double park acreage in Jacksonville, expand river access in Miami, and protect critical wetland habitat along the coast.
