Corporate Partners
Walt Disney Company:
The Walt Disney Company is working with The Trust for Public Land to support the complete redesign and renovation of the playground at Junior High School 157 in Queens, New York. This new "green" playground will be created via The Trust for Public Land's partnership with New York City's Department of Environmental Protection and the School Construction Authority. Disney voluntEARS will help complete the final stages of this unique playground - designed to absorb and retain up to one inch of stormwater during each rain event - which will assist the City's efforts to control pollution in local waterways and harbor. They will also participate in clean-up days and other volunteer opportunities associated with The Trust for Public Land's New York City Playgrounds Program.
Garnier/L'Oreal, USA:
In 2012, Garnier, a subsidiary of L'Oreal, USA, partnered with The Trust for Public Land and the City of Newark, New Jersey to install 55 recycling bins in three Newark parks. The bins are molded from beauty packaging waste collected through the Personal Care and Beauty Brigade, a recycling program made possible through Garnier's partnership with TerraCycle. The Brigade empowers consumers to collect and send in non-recyclable waste to be turned into innovative new products. Garnier's goal is to eliminate beauty waste from landfills.
MetLife Foundation:
In 1997, MetLife Foundation embarked on an ambitious journey to "build livable communities" and immediately found a worthy shipmate in The Trust for Public Land. For more than fifteen years, MetLife Foundation has played an integral role in helping The Trust for Public Land put a park within 10-minutes walking distance of every child. To date, The Trust for Public Land's partnership with MetLife Foundation has helped create more than 40 parks, playgrounds and greenways in cities across the country where they are needed most.
