Climate-smart cities

Climate-Smart Cities

80 percent of the U.S. population now lives in cities, and those cities are increasingly at risk due to climate change. Rising sea levels, flooding, and intensifying heat waves are serious threats to city living.

So that's the bad news. The good news is that parks can help.

The short animated clip above explains in simple language how bringing nature back into cities helps to lower carbon emissions and keep cities safe from major storm events.
