The Trust for Public Land worked with the State of Vermont to protect Canada View, a 936-acre property along the ridge of the Green Mountains that spans the Vermont-Canada border. Identified by Two Countries, One Forest as an essential "missing link" in the 13,000-acre bi-national wildlife linkage, the property extends from the Sutton Mountains of Quebec to the Northern Greens of Vermont. Protection of this ecologically significant property joins conservation lands in Quebec and Vermont, preserve cross-border habitat connectivity, and safeguards habitat for wildlife including Bicknell's thrush, Canada lynx, and American marten. A mix of hardwood and softwood forest offers a uniquely hospitable habitat for birds. Rich in recreational opportunities, the property is adjacent to the Long Trail, which runs the length of the Green Mountains.
