In 2009, The Trust for Public Land completed its first conservation acquisition on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The 88.5-acre Santos Farm in Milford Township, Pike County, includes more than 4,000 feet of frontage along the Delaware River. One of the last undeveloped farmland tracts in Pike County, the new county park protects important wildlife habitat, links together current parklands, and enhances public recreation adjacent to one of the country's great national parks. The park provides also one of the few access points to the Delaware River in Milford Township. The project was funded by a grant from the Pike County Scenic Rural Character Preservation Program and a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Community Conservation Partnerships Program.
