Zane Grey's Cabin

Best-selling Western author Zane Grey built a one-room cabin on the Rogue River in southern Oregon 1926. He used it as his retreat for writing, and also to indulge his other passion: fishing for the river's salmon and steelhead trout. Today the Rogue is a national Wild and Scenic River, and Grey's one-room cabin remains, surrounded by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) wilderness. When the land and cabin were offered for conservation a few years ago, TPL worked to acquire them for permanent BLM protection, completing the project in March 2008.
