The Borough of Allentown prides itself on its historic homes set in a rural landscape. In 2007, concerned residents asked TPL to help protect more than 140 acres on the borough's border, adjacent to the local Heritage Park and a new elementary school site. TPL protected 101 acres in 2008 and is now working to conserve an additional 46 acres. The resulting open space, known as the Allentown Greenbelt, will safeguard the town's historic ambiance while protecting two creeks and hosting walking trails to the new school.
