With funding from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund, TPL preserved nearly 4,000 acres of valuable habitat within the Ouachita National Forest. TPL worked with nonprofit partners to build grassroots support for the acquisition. The locals' memories of summers spent hiking and fishing in the forest made the project a community priority.
