Fort Myers, FL ? TPL announced it has conveyed 145 acres to the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge. The property, formerly owned by Roberts Development Corporation, is located on San Carlos Bay in Fort Myers, Florida within the recently expanded boundary of the Wildlife Refuge.

TPL announced today that it has a contract to purchase for conservation 107 acres of the Cypress Gardens site outside Winter Haven, Florida. Opened in 1936, Cypress Gardens grew from a Depression-era federal works project into Florida's first theme park. The attraction is know worldwide for its botanical gardens, Florida-shaped pool, water ski shows, and hoop-skirted Southern Belles.

The Trust for Public Land announced today that it has entered into an agreement to sell a 9.75-acre site on the St. Lucie River to Premier Equity Financial Inc./Building Innovations Inc., a Port St. Lucie-based investment/ development partnership. The site will be commercially developed as an integral part of the city?s RiverWalk project.

These 2.9 acres in Walton County will become part of Stallworth Lake Preserve. The property will be managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, which also funded the project through its Habitat Conservation Program in conjunction with the general revenue of Walton County.
