Park Bench Chat

Southern Utah-Red Rock Ramble to Ancient Peoples

We will begin our four park adventure with two nights at Zion Mountain Ranch, in a bison preserve at Zion National Park. We’ll join the Park Superintendent for a walk in the dramatic red rock canyon of the Virgin River, visit scenic properties added to the park by The Trust for Public Land, and accompany a Park archaeologist to view hidden ancient petroglyphs. Leaving Zion, we will stop for a gourmet picnic and walk among the fiery hoodoos of Bryce Canyon National Park on the Navajo Loop Trail before boarding a private charter for a scenic flight to Moab. For three nights we will stay at the luxurious Sorrel River Ranch on the Colorado River while exploring Arches and Canyonlands national parks with renowned geologist Tamsin McCormick. You choose the level of exertion—be it an easy stroll or a rock hopping redrock ramble—we’ll be there with you! From the Park Avenue viewpoint—featuring views of massive fins and monoliths to The Windows, goliath arches looming high above the windswept desert floor—this unforgettable landscape will leave with you an indelible impression.
