THE TRUST FOR PUBLIC LAND ON SENATE INTRODUCTION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CLIMATE ACCOUNTABILITY ACT

June 6, 2019

Bill Lee, Senior Vice President, Policy and Advocacy for The Trust for Public Land, today issued the following statement in response to introduction in the Senate of International Climate Accountability Act.

“I commend Senator Sheehan for introducing legislation today to ensure that the United States remains in the Paris Climate Agreement. Natural solutions from parks and green space are important to cool our neighborhoods, protect people and homes from fires and flooding, and capture and store carbon pollution. By recommitting to the Paris Accords as a country we will be better positioned to implement these sorts of effective on-the-ground solutions. Bipartisan action and leadership from the Senate is vital in facing our current climate crisis.”
