Diane Regas, President and CEO of The Trust for Public Land, today issued the following statement regarding the House of Representatives passing Interior appropriations:

“Our national parks deserve protection and must be fully staffed and resourced," said Diane Regas, President and CEO of The Trust for Public Land. “I am pleased that the House has voted to fund the National Park Service during this unprecedented shutdown and urge the Senate to follow the House’s lead, so that our national parks can reopen and operate safely. Additionally, I am grateful that the House has voted to reverse proposed cuts to the Land and Water Conservation Fund and ensure continued protection of our public lands. I ask Congress to continue to work to fully fund and permanently reauthorize the LWCF immediately.”
