New Online Toolkit For Creating Open Space Campaigns

BOSTON, MA, 8/4/2009: The Trust for Public Land Action Fund today released an internet-based Campaign Toolkit to help conservation activists put together local ballot initiatives to preserve natural areas, and create parks.

The package of tools and information is at www.tplactionfund.org.

The Toolkit includes the online Conservation Campaign Guide, a step-by-step manual for winning a ballot measure campaign; case studies of successful campaigns; website hosting; and information about the professional services available from The Trust for Public Land Action Fund.

The Trust for Public Land Action Fund is the only national organization that focuses solely on political action to gain public funding for conservation. The Trust for Public Land (TPL) created The Trust for Public Land Action Fund in 2000 as a 501 (c)(4) affiliate to serve the conservation community as a partner in ballot measure campaigns and lobbying.

Over the past eight years, The Trust for Public Land Action Fund has backed more than 250 winning ballot measures which have generated billions of dollars in public funding. Usually, The Trust for Public Land Action Fund works with The Trust for Public Land and local campaign leaders to pass public funding measures.

The Trust for Public Land Action Fund Toolkit draws on the successful experiences of local partners and volunteers. It also includes advice and information from The Trust for Public Land Action Fund and TPL professionals with years of experience in winning local funding measures.
