Manager of Corporate Partnerships (location flexible)
Position Summary:
The Manager of Corporate Partnerships is responsible for bridging the corporate community and Trust for Public Land by developing partnerships that engage corporations, their employees, and their customers with key programs and projects of the organization, ultimately leading to their financial support and increased brand awareness for TPL. Working as part of the Philanthropy team, and partnering with Marketing and Field Operations, as appropriate, the Manager of Corporate Partnerships will be responsible for building and maintaining corporate philanthropic, co-venture and/or co-marketing opportunities that leverage corporate financial support and lead to achieving Trust for Public Land’s mission outcomes.
Essential Functions:
70% Proactively seek outright financial support from major corporations, co-venture and/or co-marketing relationships that increases brand recognition for Trust for Public Land and leads to support that furthers the mission of the organization. Collaborate and communicate with Philanthropy, Marketing, and Field staff on corporate philanthropy opportunities of $50,000 or more, lead or assist with proposal preparation, submission, and/or work with the Marketing to create promotional materials for corporate sponsorship campaigns, as appropriate.
10% Cultivation and stewardship strategies for existing and prospective corporate donors with an emphasis on sourcing new corporate opportunities and growing support from partners
5% Consult with philanthropy colleagues on strategy to attract local, regional and national corporate donors, and serve as a resource on successful stewardship of those partnerships.
5% Build strong relationships internally with key Philanthropy, Marketing, Legal, TPL Executive Team and Field/Program staff to develop and implement successful corporate engagement and co-venture/co-branding opportunities. The portfolio of corporate relationships is partially owned by this national position and, in part, by state offices in collaboration with and/or assisted by this position. This role helps ensure alignment with the co-venture/co-branding guidelines and processes and oversees proposed opportunities through the vetting and approval process.
5% Develop and execute corporate volunteer engagement strategies that connects employees from select companies with state and local offices for meaningful volunteer opportunities, matching corporate and employee interest with local office needs. Develop a working knowledge of the corporate sectors’ employee volunteer programs and engagement practices, and remains current with trends and best practices that relate to corporate social responsibility.
5% Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and experience:
2-4 years’ experience managing a portfolio of external partners/clients, from identification to stewardship, including work in a geographically distributed organization.
Experience with or understanding of how corporate strategy informs philanthropic partnerships, and the ability to integrate that understanding into compelling long term strategies and proposals.
Experience writing proposals, developing marketing materials (pitch decks, presentations, etc.).
Demonstrated experience and proficiency using fundraising databases, Microsoft office, and online research tools.
Strong interpersonal skills with a positive “customer-focused” and problem-solving approach.
High integrity and commitment to personal and professional excellence.
Interest in and commitment to Trust for Public Land’s mission.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects.
Ability to work flexible hours, work weekends and travel nationally, as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Compensation:
As a full-time exempt employee, you will be eligible for Trust for Public Land’s comprehensive benefits program, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, three weeks of vacation annually plus sick days, a personal day, day of service and ten holidays, and a 403(b)retirement plan, currently with company match of up to 7%. We offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience; the hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 annually.
