A bird's-eye view of The 606

They grow up so fast! Chicago's newest park and trail is just past six months old, and we're marking the occasion with a new video. We took to the skies for a unique perspective on how the converted rail-line is uniting the neighborhoods it once divided—and chatted with locals to get their first impressions of their new neighbor.

If you've been thinking about checking it out for yourself, our latest photo contest—#my606story—is the perfect excuse. Whether you’re meeting friends, riding to work, or catching the sunset, we want to see how you make connections on The 606. Show us your favorite place to take in the view, snap a selfie on a morning run, or take a portrait of a friend. The winning shot will score a Trust for Public Land gift bag full of goodies for your next outdoor adventure.

Make sure to visit us on Facebook for full contest details—the deadline to submit is December 18.

Great video illustrating how an urban environment can be enhanced by working with a land trust. Thank you, Cat

It's great to see that the trail is being enjoyed in so many ways by the people in all the neighborhoods that are nearby. Bravo for a positive environmental change that so many people can enjoy!

I have enjoyed the lake walks for years and this is wonderful! What is the good music background for this video?
