Walter "Jerry" Bird is the President of MassVentures, a venture capital firm that addresses the capital gap for start-up and expansion of early-stage technology companies operating in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He has been a venture capital investor for nearly 20 years, which is not as long as he has served Trust for Public Lands. Jerry joined the New England Advisory Board in 1990 and has been active as it evolved into the Massachusetts Advisory Board. In addition to helping the Trust For Public Land save land for people, Jerry has been on the board of the Andover Conservation Committee and Massachusetts Audubon Society. He is also a board member and past chairman of Crossroads for Kids which inspires at-risk youth to unlock their potential and positively impact the world. Jerry and his wife Grace live in the South End of Boston and enjoy pending their spare time among the mountains and lakes of New Hampshire.
