T.J. Whalen

T.J. Whalen is the former Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer for Keurig Green Mountain (GMCR), a $4+ billion consumer products manufacturer. As a leader in specialty coffee and coffee makers, Keurig Green Mountain has been recognized for its award-winning coffees, innovative Keurig® single cup brewing technology, and socially responsible business practices. T.J. was responsible for setting the company’s overall strategy, plans and growth agenda, leading strategic planning, and ensuring overall Company performance. In addition, his team was responsible for the company’s Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

T.J. served in a variety of roles with Keurig Green Mountain over 13+ years, including Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Vice President of National Foodservice and Director of Brand and Market Development. When he joined GMCR in 2001, the Company had less than $100 million in sales, and had since grown by a factor of more than 40-fold. Prior to GMCR, T.J. held marketing and product development leadership roles at Adventurous Traveler, a direct marketer of adventure travel services; Patagonia, a leading apparel and outdoor gear manufacturer; and Leo Burnett, a global advertising and marketing services agency.

He holds a B.S. in Economics and Education from Dartmouth College.
