Pete Aniello
Senior Manager of Science & Analytics

I’m based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was born in Chicago, grew up in central Missouri, and have spent the last 20+ years in Colorado, California, and New Mexico.

I’m a geospatial analysis expert with deep experience in the public, private, and now non-profit sector. I have a BS in Geology from University of Kansas, and an ME in Geographic Information Systems from University of Colorado – Denver. Previously I’ve worked at Sandia National Laboratories, Esri, Maxar, USGS, and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

At TPL, I’ve been involved in creating the national urban heat island data, and have worked on the Conservation Carbon Map, Natural Climate Solutions, and Oregon Community Assessment tools. I’ve also worked on the NYC Displacement Analysis, and contribute to ParkServe and ParkScore.
I spend my free time hiking, trail running, camping, fishing, and reading.
