Katie Young
Katie is a vice president of food innovation at Starbucks and has been working in food at Starbucks since 2012. Katie previously spent time at McKinsey & Company as an Associate Principal focusing on agribusiness, strategy under uncertainty, and agricultural development. Her clients included the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation and USAID and her work travels have taken her to over 23 countries. Katie is a graduate of Kenyon College where she studied Political Science and Spanish and the University of Chicago where she earned a Master’s in Public Policy focusing on international development from the Harris School of Public Policy studies. She is an active member of the Global Washington Board and the Northwest Chapter of The Trust for Public Land Board. Katie is enjoying the Pacific Northwest after spending most of her life in the Midwest (Ohio and Chicago). She enjoys reading, travelling, and generally being outdoors. Katie and her husband, Chad, have two children- a son and a daughter.
