Sr IT Tech (Remote w/ Rare Travel)

Trust for Public Land is seeking a Senior IT Technician to complement its IT Support team. The Senior IT Technician provides Tier 2 and 3 user support, while also assisting with the support of TPL’s back-end systems. The ideal candidate is an IT generalist who can manage multiple projects and tasks of varying priority in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

You are someone who can readily translate technical verbiage into laypeople’s terms for an outstanding end-user experience. 

Location: 

Remote with occasional office visits - Greater San Francisco Bay Area   
 

Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Deliver Tier 2 and 3 support to resolve all user PC hardware, software and basic networking problems 

  • Administer Microsoft 365 including Office365, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint 

  • Maintain components of the network infrastructure including basic Windows server admin, server patching, and implementation and administration of VPN devices and clients 

  • Provision new hire accounts and computers, and deprovision terminated user accounts in a timely, effective fashion and in accordance with set procedures 

  • Manage tickets throughout their lifecycle while providing excellent customer service to ensure user satisfaction with resolutions, and documenting all steps taken for internal tracking 

  • Coordinate with other technicians to ensure uniform support experience with consistent high-quality customer service 

  • Maintain excellent rapport and strong business relationships with cross-functional contacts   

  • Advise on organizational solutions and standards within team meetings 

  • Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system 

  • Plan and implement IT projects, and collectively resolve pending technical issues 

 

 Qualifications:  

  • Minimum 5 years of Helpdesk experience in a distributed work environment, including significant focus on Tier 2 and 3 levels of support 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with hands-on experience in a Windows 10 and Mac environment   

  • Minimum three years of experience using remote access software, imaging/deployment software in a distributed environment 

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Active Directory and Outlook  

  • Experience with basic Windows Server 2012 R2 through 2019 

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills 

  • Highly self-motivated and resourceful with strong ability to work well under pressure 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills 

  • Able to work flexible hours

  • Able to travel 1-2 times per year to facilitate office moves  

  • Able to regularly lift/move electronic and related equipment weighing up to 40 lbs

As a full-time employee, you will be eligible for The Trust for Public Land’s comprehensive benefits program which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, three weeks of vacation annually plus holidays, and a 403(b) retirement plan, currently with an up to 5.5% company match. The anticipated salary is $85,000-$112,000 range but may vary depending on qualifications and experience.
