We land national headlines, maintain a robust social media presence, publish an award-winning donor magazine, and produce digital, print, and multimedia campaigns, content, and marketing material to engage and inspire more people to support The Trust for Public Land’s mission. This position is remote and therefore can be located anywhere in any state where TPL has an office.
Position description
We are looking for 1-2 interns with strong digital media and storytelling skills and experience for a 6-month paid multimedia internship from July through December. All aspects of the internship will be done remotely given the COVID-19 epidemic. The interns will produce deliverables (social media creative; video; animation; infographics) that will be used on The Trust for Public Land’s owned channels (e.g. website; social media), as well as in presentations and fundraising appeals, and will provide the intern(s) with exceptional work products for their portfolios.
Projects may include:
  • Video
    • Produce and edit (video editing and production) direct to camera :30 videos featuring field leaders and/or partners
    • Produce and edit interviews and/or testimonials to be used in multi-platform campaigns
    • Video “motion graphics” (e.g. photo slideshow) showcasing  state program highlights, exciting news, or story excerpts
    • Campaign-specific short videos and/or moving animations
    • Product-specific short videos that address the core pillars of The Trust for Public Land
    • Experience with live social media videos and the ability to provide tools/best practices for capturing footage and promoting on social platforms
  • Social Creative
    • Infographics and concept visualizations (graphs/charts, etc)
    • Sharable social media tiles and/or images
    • UGC campaigns
    • Social Media 101 toolkit or program to help Trust for Public Land staff and spokespeople build their digital profiles (e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter)
    • Campaign-specific creative to include educational animations, GIF’s, Instagram filters, sharable quotes
    • Support social media contests
    • Produce and edit virtual event videos, optimized for social platforms
    • Animated whiteboards, tutorials, and educational series creative
  • Portfolio of digital and print creative
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Familiarity with design applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat. Ability to distinguish file types and their use for both print and web
  • For video editing and animated motion graphics position, familiarity with video editing and animation tools like the Adobe suite
  • Ability to work on a deadline, and manage projects from beginning to end
  • Ability to adhere to Trust for Public Land brand standards in all deliverables
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with social media marketing and/or producing creative content for social media platforms (ie. best practices, creative sizes, copy restrictions, closed captions, etc.)
  • Personal connection to and passion for The Trust for Public Land’s brand and mission
