Director of Climate Resilience

Taj Schottland is the Director of Climate Resilience at Trust for Public Land (TPL), where he guides the organization’s efforts to protect vulnerable communities from climate-driven hazards such as extreme heat, flooding, and wildfire. With more than 15 years of experience in climate adaptation, mitigation, and community resilience, Taj shapes TPL’s national climate strategy, ensuring that equity, science, and community voices drive the work. He also directs TPL’s Climate Smart Cities Program, a pioneering initiative that brings together cross-sector partners to help cities plan and invest in parks and green infrastructure that reduce climate risks, improve health, and advance climate justice.

Before joining TPL, Taj worked at the National Wildlife Federation where he managed coastal resilience projects that safeguarded people, habitats, and wildlife from climate hazards.
