More than 100,000 visitors a year come to Lime Kiln Point State Park on Washington's San Juan Island to view feeding orca whales. Deadman Bay Beach, just south of the park, is among the most scenic and popular beaches in the San Juans. The 180-acre property now belongs to the public, thanks to a partnership between TPL, Recreation Equipment Incorporated, and the San Juan County Land Bank. In 1997, the land was conserved saving the parks panoramic views across Puget Sound and access to the beach.
