Community Gardens

In a world of asphalt and brick, New York's more than 450 community gardens provide residents rare places to relax and connect with nature. They serve as front porches and backyards—places to meet with neighbors, play, grow produce, and gather for summer cookouts. read more »

New York City Playgrounds

Many of New York City's public elementary schools lack usable playgrounds and several communities lack park space, so TPL is partnering with Mayor Bloomberg to renovate playgrounds as part of PlaNYC 2030, which uses a participatory design process that involves the community. read more »

Queens Waterfront Green Vision

Beginning in 2010, The Trust for Public Land, in partnership with Green Shores NYC, developed a green vision for the East River shoreline in Astoria and Long Island, Queens. read more »

QueensWay Project

The Trust for Public Land is fundraising for a feasibility study and master plan for the QueensWay, a 3.5 mile stretch of abandoned and unused elevated rail line in the heart of the borough of Queens. read more »
