Burlington Waterfront

TPL's work with the City of Burlington began with the purchase of land on Lake Champlain from Central Vermont Railway that included an abandoned rail line. Our involvement continued with work on the Burlington Open Space Protection Plan and culminated in the creation of Mayes Landing, a new park on the waterfront along the Winooski River. read more »

TPL purchased Long Island in Minnesota's Burntside Lake, at the headwaters of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and across from Listening Point, which inspired conservation writer Sigurd Olson. read more »
