Conestoga Community Playground

Conestoga Community Playground in West Philadelphia is one block away from Lancaster Avenue, the commercial corridor between Center City and its affluent suburbs. The park spans two city blocks and is heavily used for basketball games and as a neighborhood gathering place. Students at nearby Mastery Charter School also use the field for their lacrosse program. The Trust for Public Land will work with students and residents in the community to transform the park with new playground equipment, an improved recreation field, and stormwater management features. Our partners at the Mural Arts Program are also undertaking a community design process to add public art to the park and to the busy pedestrian walkways between the park, the school, public transit hubs, and Lancaster Avenue.
