37th and Mt. Vernon Playground

West Philadelphia's Mantua neighborhood is working with nearby institutions such as Drexel University to revitalize the neighborhood by improving housing, economic opportunity, and quality of life for the residents. The Trust for Public Land is working with various community groups to transform the aging recreation center at 37 th and Mt. Vernon streets into a park that would create new places to play and provide more green space. Park improvements will also include stormwater management features that will help prevent runoff from entering the sewers and polluting the nearby Schuylkill River.
